Ive narrowed down the problem.

Once the coupon is created with 10 or 20 available uses.. or any number .. it can be a 100.

When checking out, the first time the coupon works.
After the first time, it becomes invalid, no matter how many times you set the number of uses.
I'll look into this

Ok I just tested this and it works fine for me on 1.4.7
I created a coupon with 5 uses total and 4 per customer
I logged in as customer a.. bought something 5 times. On the 5th try, it gave the error. GOOD
I logged in as customer b.. bought something 2 times. On the 2nd try, it gave the error. GOOD

sounds like they may be ignoring the uses per customer field and then trying two times with the same customer.

I am struggling with this too..

Set up the coupon taking into account all the points raised on here (total amount set to zero, relevant products added etc) and while the message upon clicking "apply coupon" in the basket reads "Success, your....." no discount is reflected either in the subtotal within the basket or on the confirmation page... I'm tearing my hair out! Please help!

Thanks.
