If you're not sure how to do that just right click on the files in Filezilla and adjust to 644.

Welcome to OpenCart Forum!

I hate to ask, but did you remember to change the names of the default files from config-dist.php to config.php - in both your admin directory and the root catalog one? If the install program can't find these two files, that both must be named config.php, then it says it can't write to them...

Hope that helps, we were all newbies at one time!

Oh, and if this or another suggestion solves your problem please go to your first post and use the Edit function (looks like a pencil) to add "[SOLVED]" to the Subject Line.

Better don't use a Windows Server environment, but a UNIX Environment, then, you can 'handle' CHMOD Settings.
