Hi guys!
I have a fresh install of OC, and installed Journal theme. Up to that point, all good.
Later I installed plugins from Purpletree and none of them appeared in the dashboard menu.
Not sure this is a clue, but I did an experiment, first assigning all permissions, and later assigning zero permissions to a user group.
But in both cases there's no difference in the dashboard menu.
One more thing.
I run the site on GoDaddy (Business account). Installing extensions via the installer didn't work. So I had to use FTP.
With the journal theme, installing via FTP went fine and it appeared in the dashboard menu.
However, with the various Purpletree extensions I installed today it is not the case.
Any ideas what the problem could be and possibly how to fix it?
(I'm clueless but my hunch is that by using FTP, somehow the OC installer doesn't fully recognize parts of the extensions that have been installed?)

Update:
I'm told that I have to use the installer and not FTP.
However I can't seem to install anything via the installer without getting an error. Not even a language pack. Everything fails.
I read somewhere this might have something to do with the webhost.
Any tips on how to fix that error? (I'm on GoDaddy business hosting).

If you use Journal, before you buy and install extensions you must check that they are compatible.
For all extension issues I would recommend requesting help through OpenCart as they will ensure the developer provides good support:

I actually just found a workaround.
I am running PHP 7.2 and that was causing the issue installing extensions.
Recap: Every time I tried to install extensions via the installer, even a simple language pack, as soon as the progress bar reached extracting files, it would give me a box with two internal server errors.
So, I tried older PHP versions, 7.1, 7.0 and eventually when I tried 5.6, I finally was able to use the installer properly.
I installed every extension again via PHP 5.6 and switched back to PHP 7.2 afterwards.

This is actually not related to PHP version. It is related to the configuration of PHP.zengalaxy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:08 pmI actually just found a workaround.

It is possible you are missing some PHP modules like Zip Archive in the case of version 7.x, and that module is available for PHP 5.6.
You can get more information by looking at the server logs.
