OpenCart 2.2.0.0
Regarding theme: Journal 2.16.1
website: www.micro-trains.com
Hello everybody!
The company I work for did not retain its user information for Themeforest after it purchased the Journal 2 theme for their OpenCart site , so I'm unable to post on Journal's official support portal. I was trying to find a way to reach them without logging in, and other than their support portal the only option was a link to visit "the forum" (as they put it) which came here =)
So here is what is happening:
We notice that there are times when our site will load its URLs differently. And in these cases the theme completely disappears.
You can view this in action by first going to:
https://www.micro-trains.com/index.php? ... eight-cars
Then:
https://www.micro-trains.com/n-scale/freight-cars
Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?
Thank you for your help!
Jacob

This portion is not supported by the forum. You'd still need to reach Themeforest's support for this information or contact Journal support directly. The company I work for did not retain its user information for Themeforest after it purchased the Journal 2 theme for their OpenCart site , so I'm unable to post on Journal's official support portal. your seo urls and/or htaccess rewrites are wrong
This picks up the wrong css, js, etc url
https://www.micro-trains.com/n-scale/freight-cars
using
https://www.micro-trains.com/n-scale/jo ... fbb3e3.css
(adding the n-scale path in there which does not exist)

as it should as your route is n-scale/freight-cars

Default Journal behaviour, not a bug

Thank you letxobnav! I really appreciate your response. This might be default Journal behavior, but wow is it troublesome. As it is now, every menu item will go to a css/js/etc. stripped version of the page.
Short response is: Sadly I don't know how to fix our htaccess rewrites. At this point we're thinking about just starting fresh, but this would really impact my co-workers, causing them to have to completely re-think all their order processing and customer support systems.
I recognize quite clearly that my very limited knowledge of coding ill-prepares me to utilize OpenCart and certainly Journal, so I fully understand if you can't "get into the weeds" with me about this.
That said, I'd deeply appreciate any further guidance on fixing htaccess rewrites
