Hi,

Admin won't allow ne to update my settings, as it says 'Warning: You do not have permission to modify settings!'.

Is this due to having a SP which only use dynamic IPs?

If so is there a fix for this?

Using opencart 3.0.3.2 - PHP 7.4 - Standard Template - Add to Cart Enable Disable Out of Stock Product 3.x - Export/Import Tool (V3.22) for OpenCart 3.x - Footer Social Media Link( 3.x ) v1.0

This question was asked god knows how many times. Search by error message to find the solution. In the future search first, ask later.

...and always check, if possibly some Modification already exists.
You could try out one of those... ;)

Disable API checks
OpenCart API can cause you a lot of pain with different error messages like "Warning: You do not have
permission to access the API!" or "Warning: Your IP is not allowed to access this API!". If your IP-address
changes frequently, these messages can drive you mad. This little extension removes both session and
IP-address checks for API to make your life a little easier.
NOTE: By removing API security checks you can make your OpenCart API vulnerable!

Thanks for your help on this matter.

I had to put in an extension to disable the API request.

What does the API stop if it was enabled?

The API prevents unauthorized access to add, edit or remove any transactions from your catalog/controller/api folder by default by using a backward compatibility method. By disabling the API checks, you may also create security holes without realizing it.

Okay, but I don't think there is anyway around this unless I change ISP? Which supply's a static IP address.

How would I go back to using the API if I have already used up the IP place holders?

The IP addresses must remain static in the first place. Merchant-based solutions do not usually involve using dynamic IP addresses when managing a store.

Then your API address is dynamic rather than static.
