Hi All,

Thank you in advance for your help as I'm still new.
I am running 3.0.3.2

I am not sure if I am adding stock correctly as I cant see how many small, medium or large I have.

I created a product (lets say cup)
I have 7 small, 3 medium and 15 large cups.
Now Im not sure if I am supposed to put 1 or 25 into "Quantity" in the "Data" tab
I then have my "Option" tab where I have added the small, medium and large options under the "Size" option I created in the "Options" section of the "Catalog"
When I added each option to the product I put their "Quantity" in and said "Yes" to "Subtract Total"

Now is where my problem lies.
Where can I see how many small cups, medium cups and large cups I have in stock?
So I can make sure the correct amount is being deducted at sale and for re-order
I understand it is more difficult for multiple options like small blue cup but I only need small medium or large.

I have searched everywhere but cant seem to find an answer.

If I understand you correctly ..
If you add the stock quantity and YES to deduct - this will update for each option when it is ordered.
It will also reduce the quantity as a whole.

You can find a RELATED OPTIONS extension in the marketplace that will allow you to have SMALL RED / SMALL BLUE also
It would not be difficult to add option stock level to the main product page, this might be included in some RELATED OPTIONS PRO versions, so it is worth checking.

Not sure what you mean mate.
I was asking
1. Do I add the total QTY of the small medium and large to the data tab or do I just put one?
2. WHERE do I see the actual qty of small medium and small after sales etc

1. Do I add the total QTY of the small medium and large to the data tab or do I just put one?
In the options tab
2. WHERE do I see the actual qty of small medium and small after sales etc
In the options tab

The data tab will count as 1 product

if you say use checkbox -
the customer adds 1 product to cart with checkbox small and large
- option small => reduce by 1 - option large => reduce by 1
- product => reduce by 1

if you say use the radio -
then the customer adds 1 product in large and then adds to cart 1 product in small
- option small => reduce by 1 - option large => reduce by 1
- product => reduce by 2

Clearer?

Yes a lot clearer....
I was not using "checkbox" or "radio" but "Select"
I will change it to "radio" and see what happens.

So will the individual size QTY show in my "Product List"?

not using options much as a mandatory option is a contradiction in terms but from what I can see:

if you sell shirts with different colors and different sizes you would have to set required options for color and sizes.
for each option value you set the quantity you have for that option and enable subtract as well as product subtract stock under data tab.

so if you have shirts:

4 size A
2 size B

2 black
2 green
2 white

product total qty = 6

so in data tab you see the product qty, in the option tab the product qty per option

so if you order 1 green shirt size B, the quantities would become

4 size A
1 size B

2 black
1 green
2 white

product total qty = 5

Select should work the same way as a radio -
A product is removed each time a product is added to the cart
An option is removed per option selection.

The stock quantity of products can be seen in the product list
The stock quantity of option can only be seen by default in the options tab within the product itself.

Related options adds tired functionality - so you can keep track of sizes per colour for example.
As I mentioned previously - we added options to the product list - but it is not standard.

OK I'm on top of it now I think.
As I have 7 small, 3 medium and 15 large I need to put 25 in the data tab.
Put the correct amounts in each option
And when each one sells the qty goes down in both the "Products Page" and the "options"

There is still a pretty big problem.
If I sell all 3 of the medium cups the store automatically removes this as an option but HOW can I tell I need to order more?
Is there no way other than making separate items for everything.
eg small cup with a qty of 3, medium cup with a qty of 7 etc....

You can tell if you need to order more - reasonably inconveniently by checking inside the product itself ... I know ..
This is why I suggested adding the stock option levels to the main product list initially.

Which ever way you work around it, you will require custom work if you want to make your life easier.
Lots of things are possible -
You can have a system created that will send you an e-mail if the stock level falls below?
A report that will give a stock printout?
Send an order directly to specific manufacturers on sale of item?
- but not standard opencart -

Short term, I stand by my original suggestion
Long term - plan out your requirements, in full, then bite the bullet.
