Has anyone gotten SMPT email for AWS SES to work in OpenCart 3.0.3.2?
Gmail works fine, but it would be better to use our domain name email as setup in AWS.
This is my log from System -> Maintenance -> Error Logs after several attempts:

Followed is an example of their GET / POST API: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/ ... mples.html .
You can also see other query interfaces here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/ ... rface.html

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

Your response is not specific enough to achieve results unless you are a developer. I am not.
I can make changes to files when I know exactly what to change and which files need editing.
Can you be more specific?

Well, let's see.
Has anyone gotten SMPT email for AWS SES to work in OpenCart 3.0.3.2?
No I cannot be more specific since this generic question has no specific details whatsoever in the first place to describe if you're a developer or not. It simply asks if anyone were able to make this third party API to work but nothing that specifically describes how knowledgeable you were with it on your first post. However, what I did provided was the official documentation to AWS SES API . If that is not enough for you to conclude that, as a third party troubleshooting request, this information may not provide enough information for you, you can always submit a new service request in the Commercial Support section of the forum to get this fixed as a custom job or to find an extension by using Google or on the Marketplace to see what may fit your requirements since OC, by default, does not provide any functionality with AWS SES, still on this day, unless integration planning on a user's behalf comes to light.

Forum rules.

There was nothing "generic" about the question I posted, in fact, it was pretty specific. There was no mention of an "API" in my question. I would have rathered you didn't respond at all than to be as inconsiderate as you have in your answers. Maybe someone else would have responded with some useful information that has been down this path already.

With AWS SES, you can always search the forum or on Google for answers. I can't really recall the last time this error message was posted specifically especially without the details.

I was finally able to get my server to work with opencart.

Code: Select all

Mail Engine SMTP
Mail Parameters blank
SMTP Hostname tls://maildomain
SMTP Username shopemailaddress@mydomain.com

Code: Select all

cat >> /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-auth.conf << "EOF"

auth_mechanisms = plain login

EOF
/etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-auth.conf only had "auth_mechanisms = plain", and while this is fine with Thunderbird, since the connection is made via ssl, it still would not work with opencart, so adding the "login" option in addition to "plain" made it work.

Without the login option I was getting :
"SASL LOGIN authentication failed: Invalid authentication mechanism" in the mail log.
