Hello. I have done a database upgrade from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3.1 and using fresh files for opencart, and fresh installs for all plugins and journal v3.
plugins list:
by isencelabs: promotions, abandoned carts, seo backpack, gift teaser
by someone else: multiple flat zone shipping
oc 3.0.3.1 fresh files + upgraded db
journal v3
ssl

Paypal express checkout on quick checkout page for Journal was not responding to click on confirm order. So i found fresh straightlight's paypal fix files from viewtopic.php?f=201&t=210578 and installed them. Of course uninstalled existing paypal express, clicked on dashboard button to clear caches, clicked on modification blue button, then installed the new paypal express files.
I switched to opencart checkout. went to paypal express checkout settings to add my parameters.
This part happened after new straightlights files: I am unable to upload logo into the paypal express checkout Checkout tab in admin, click on edit image is irresponsive doing nothing, and i am unable to save IPN URL, when i save and come back the rest of parameters are there, but IPN URL is not. test to buy something via paypal express checkout from the store the popup window opens up, closes then gives error:

Code: Select all

Error: There was an error fetching the PayPal token at eval (eval at globalEval (https://domain.name/catalog/view/theme/journal3/lib/jquery/jquery-2.1.1.min.js?v=3.0.31:2:2536), :14:21) at _loop (https://www.paypalobjects.com/api/checkout.js?v=3.0.31:5519:50) at ZalgoPromise.dispatch (https://www.paypalobjects.com/api/checkout.js?v=3.0.31:5543:57) at ZalgoPromise.resolve (https://www.paypalobjects.com/api/checkout.js?v=3.0.31:5479:22) at https://www.paypalobjects.com/api/checkout.js?v=3.0.31:5453:48 at XMLHttpRequest. There is nothing in my error log files about this or about anything from today. Is there a hope for paypal, and ultimately on one page checkout, because it does not work at all, even with that new files?
And if there is no hope, will i be able to use paypal express checkout files from my stable opencart 3.0.2 on my 3.0.3.1 ?

See this solution: viewtopic.php?f=201&t=210578 for Paypal Express Checkout fix.

The first fix you link to, causes the error which the OP mentioned, they used that fix hence the problem... The fix is what causes the problem.
The second fix for Journal is for a DIFFERENT problem, unrelated to the OP's problem.

I have the exact same problems as the OP.

I did find a solution sort of for the PayPal express issue though, not ideal, waiting for an actual solution.

On the Journal > Layout > Checkout, add the PayPal express button, it will then allow the checkbox PayPal option to work. Although then you're stuck with a big paypal express button on the page.

Another option is if you only want the express button on the cart page, and but not on the checkout page, but want to remove the broken express checkbox option.

.quick-checkout-wrapper .shipping-payment {
display: none;
}

However this will remove all payment options and shipping option, so make sure you set your card option or something else as option number one, make sure it's not Express.

The idea solution would be if someone can fix the express checkbox option, without having the button too on the checkout or to hide the payment options. I'm surprised noone has considering PP Express is propably one of the most popular options and Journal is one of the most popular themes.

Inconclusive since there has been input on the official topic where OC users did mentioned it works without issues. As for the logo, this was already explained on the official topic that it may need a bit of work but the rest is fine without Journal.

Doesn't work for me, the "fixes" just made things worse.
No idea what the logo problem is, I never faced such issues.

No details provided. Did not addressed issue prior on official support topic.

I'm stuck with the same problem where you click the confirm and it's stuck rotating as if it's loading but doesn't redirect or change, what did journal say about this are they aware of this issue etc? Just wondering before I open a ticket. Thanks
