Hello all,

store: http://test.jwestlake.com
OC 3.0.2.0 upgrade from 1.5.6.4

I'm running through a test upgrade of my main store (v1.5.6.4) to latest release, trying to work out all the bugs in preparation for my first big upgrade in years. Most everything I've been able to figure out so far, however, one thing is vexing me completely, and that is the missing font-awesome icons on the navbar, search button, etc.

I've tried with no .htaccess, and I've tested with multiple different formats of the .htaccess file for www and non-www as mentioned in these fora and elsewhere online. I've checked that both config files have "http://test.jwestlake.com" as the server addresses. I've checked to see that the paths are correct in the HTML from web inspectors in both Safari 11.0.1 (Mac OS X 10.12.6) and Firefox Quantum 57.0.1. I've reinstalled fresh FA files from the official FA site, since one person said their upload was corrupted. The consoles in my browsers give no errors at all. When looking at downloaded resources for the page, no font-awesome fonts appear to have downloaded. No errors in the admin console error logs appear. The CSS seems to be loaded and linked properly as best as my non-webdev skills can tell. I'm running the default store theme, and the only thing I've added is the US English language pack from the marketplace. I do have the latest vqmod installed, but I've removed all XML files from the directory.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but after 4+ hours of searching and testing and trying different things, I'm no closer to solving. Could anyone offer any other possible suggestions I could check? Please let me know if there's any additional needed information I may have missed.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi straightlight,

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I don't see anything new in the link you sent. Following on to the stackoverflow link, the only relevant comments I saw were to reinstall FA (or perhaps it was AdBlock, which it's not). I'd already tried the reinstall to no avail.

Any other ideas?

Thanks again!

Have you also reinstalled the latest release of the font-awesome by replacing the old folder in Opencart?

I see this error in Chrome when trying to view your store..

Code: Select all

Failed to decode downloaded font: http://test.jwestlake.com/catalog/view/javascript/font-awesome/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0
OTS parsing error: invalid version tag
If I try to navigate to that link to download the font I get your Webhosts 404 page?

http://test.jwestlake.com/catalog/view/ ... f2?v=4.7.0

Suggests either the files do not exist in that location or if they do you have a browsing restriction on that path?

I don't know from which website you are attempting to download font-awesome but I do know that, on this day, I have no problem downloading it: http://fontawesome.io/assets/font-awesome-4.7.0.zip

For what it is worth... been struggling with something similar for a a while. Problem was with 2.x as well. Now running 3.0.2.0. If it type mystore.com in URL bar, font-awesome does not load. If I type www.mystore.com it does. Think it started when I added SSL.

Also noticed with new Firefox Quantum, it (or OpenCart) seems to be treating PC webpage as a mobile site because only fonts load and no word description at top for Account, Shopping Cart, etc...
