re editing twig files

I can not find a easy way to re-edit a twig file. I edit a twig in design/theme editor and it saves and renders correctly. When I go back to that twig file to change something that I edited I find the original twig file and no record of what I changed. I can see and edit my changes by using phpmyadmin directly on the database, however that's a bit archic. I there anyway to see and edit my changes in 3.02
