Well, it all depends, on what you want to look like, since your ShopSite
is the first impression, one will get. Aldi/Lidl/Wallmart ... , or just Pro.
But the first impression is sure not a Welcome Page, full of all kinds
of stuff, to then be followed by rather 'unemotional' Product Pages.
But one is NOT selling it's Welcome Page, but the content, like GOOGLE,
and Google does not even need something special on their Welcome
Page, to still be the most visited Site in the world.
But I fully understand, that and why small Shop Users tend to put all
their effort into the Welcome Page, they want to look like real Pro's.
Still, nobody needs to have ANY external Links, made by some scriptings,
to tell the visitors, to also be 'Part' on all the popular social Sites. Or
anything else, connecting a Welcome Page to any 'outside' Sniffer, just
there, to let someone else know, who visits your Site.
And it's not the Masses of Products, presented on a Welcome Page, it's
the Quality of the Presentation, Visitors need to get hungry, to see more,
instead of beeing overrun by the sheer amount of Information.
And I would use better looking fonts, at least in the english Language, and a little
larger in size.
Good Luck!
