I wondering if someone could clear something up for me, I just did a new user test sign up on my website and me as admin received the new user sign up email but me as a customer did not receive any new user sign up confirmation email and just want to know if it coded in already and should be sending out the confirmation email to the new user or does it require extra coding or if there is a extension that does it
Just seeing if I may need to contact my host to see if they can see any issue their end, I am using SMTP mail settings in system->settings->mail
I am using opencart 2.0.3.1

In this version, emails are not coded into the register controller to send emails upon customers created account by default.

oh right ok so the customer does not receive a email saying something like Thank you for registering and can log in with the login link within the email body content
in the your account has been created page, I just noticed it says "A confirmation has been sent to the provided e-mail address. If you have not received it within the hour, please contact us".

If you wish to stay with the v2.x releases, then upgrading to the v2.3.0.2 release will bring more flexibility compared to the very old version you're using.

Just a quick update on this, been playing around with the settings in the mail and it does send a email out to the customer after registering saying Welcome and thank you for registering at STORE NAME
I have found it works if the email is something like enquiries@domain.co.uk but if the email is yahoo or gmail, the email does not reach the customer and seems like yahoo or gmail blocks the email
does anyone know of a fix for it?

There are plenty of Gmail settings instruction topics on the forum: viewtopic.php?f=190&t=186045&p=703061&h ... ls#p703089

Will that work though as I myself am not using gmail or yahoo email address, my email address is sales@it-doneright.co.uk but the issue is the email reaching the destination of a yahoo or gmail email address, they seem to block it and it don't even appear in the junk mail?
Follow these instructions: http://www.opencart-templates.co.uk/mail-settings

Between my hosting and myself, the issue with the emails and yahoo etc. is solved
my host added a SPF record and I found a extension that disables the base64 encoding in email header as my host support said could be to do with that as well, I downloaded that extension from https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... load_id=41

Take note that disabling the base64 encoding may not apply for everyone as several hosts may still require the use of this encoded type for the emails.
