Hello,  I love this mod if I could just get it to work properly  :-[

I can get the categories in but the products still won't show up.  I have attached the file if someone could give me some pointers?  :)

I've tried it all types of ways but maybe I'm missing something.  Thanks!

Looks like there are some missing entries in the 'products' worksheet.

What version of OpenCart are you using? At the moment I have only tested it for version 0.7.7.

If you send me a backup copy of your database I can take a look at it.
You can create the database backup via OpenCart's admin panel (Admin > Configuration > Backup / Restore).

As I said. the export-import module was developed under version 0.7.7, however I'll test it with the recently released version 0.7.8 to make sure it works under that new version, too.

As regards your backup(2).sql: It only has one product, whereas your spreadsheet lists 3625 products. I assume you heavily edited your spreadsheet or got your products from elsewhere.

Here are some things you should do in the 'products' worksheet:

product_id: Required for each product!
categories: Specify them by category-ids, not names!
sort_order: Specifies the sort-order of the products within a given category
language_id: 1  (if language is English)

You can download a PDF documentation for the Export/Import module from http://www.mhccorp.com/shoppingcart.shtml .

Also, I think you can dranatically reduce the number of products by using product options for certain products (such as color, size, grade etc.).
It's all documented in the PDF manual.

Thanks for the information and taking a look.  I will try adding the category id #'s instead and see if that helps and I will read more on it.  Thanks again!

There is probably a too restrictive configuration of your 'open_basedir' PHP configuration. It is unable to read/write temporary files.
See http://uk.php.net/features.safe-mode for more details.

Can you put the following file named e.g. 'test.php' into your public_html directory with the following contents:

Code: Select all

<?php phpinfo(); ?>
and let me know your web site's URL so that I can call up the 'test.php' so as to see your PHP configuration?
