Hi,
I've just tried upgrading my store from 1.5.x to 3.0 and I get this error:
-----------------
Fatal error: Call to undefined function start() in [mysiteURL]/install/index.php on line 37
-----------------
Any ideas what I need to do to fix this? I'd prefer not to do a clean install since I have a ton of content already in the site.
Thanks,
Colin

Despite of uncounted Failures, already mentioned around here, those forever-Newbies
obviously just don't get it.
Instead of just accepting, that there is no upgrade possible to a Version, not compatible
in any way anymore with v.1.5.x. And not one single extension will work either, it all has to
be brandnew, to function again. Even the DB is not usable anymore, as it was.
And if not, it's your shop, you're gonna ruin.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply, even though it's not that useful.
I'd love to know why in the world the developers put instructions on upgrading the system when it apparently does not work.
Guess I'll just upload the backup and go back to 1.5.x

Well, I got the site updated from 1.5.x to 2.3. Maybe I'll try the upgrade to version 3 again soon.

Well, we all would like to know, I assume!
Still, it cannot be just plain ignorance, there must be a reason, to leave that
piece of crab in Place 'til today. Even the long outdated UPGRADE.TXT still
exists in the Downloads, and it has even be Upgraded, to V1.5.x TO 3.0.x,
despite of the Fact that it dod not even work to upgrade any 1.5 to Version 2 !
---
---
Despite of the fact, that everybody could find
out, that it still presents the rather aged OC v.1.5.5.x to 1.5.x Ugrade-Images, with
the only exeption of the top image, wich has been changed, to reflect latest Versions.
---

---
It's a real pity, and it already resulted in uncounted amounts of unfortunate attempts,
to upgrade the un-upgradable. But on the other hand, any UPGRADE in the World
could and would only function, if a strictly VIRGIN Version would be upgraded,
without any Custom Anything in it. But there is NO Shop, without something CUSTOM,
therefore, it would not work in most cases anyway.
Still, it's no Excuse, more an eventual-intent, to so kill existing Software for good.
But the management still ignores the Situation, and nobody commented on any of
the several Postings made on this, so far. So, as a result of this, frequent Forum-Users,
like me, tend to get sometimes a little sarcastic, when it comes to Posting like yours.
It's one of the Valves, to get rid of some frustrations, to then realize, again and again,
how little we can achieve, in real, or then, how little OC cares about.
But nobody has any obligations, basically, exept for the Mod-Sellers, they should be
around here, to freely assist, from time to time, according to OC Seller Regulations.
But only a handful of them still follow those rules, whereby the Rest probably has no
plans, to spend some of their costly time, under Terms, as they exist.
Just to have that tragic matter mentioned one more time. But I swear, I won't do it ever again.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your detailed post. I think I will give 3.0 another shot soon since I got the install up to 2.3.x.
I can understand the need to vent. It must be frustrating seeing a lot of the same posts on here requesting help.
