I have a small manufacturing business (less than 10 employees, 3-5 material buys each year, ~400 manufactured products each year) that is looking for a better way to manage sales, finances/reporting, and manufacturing costs. Is there a way to extend OC to do most of this? Is there a better, open source, web-based option? They don't want or need a highly complex system, and they are already familiar with OpenCart...

Oc may be a great 'Seller' , but it 'employs' a rather minimalistic 'Bookkeeper', by Default!
It will therefore not be of much use, when it comes to this, or then, you look around for a
comprehensive Bookkeeper-Extension for it, created by a Company, well known, and still around,
if you ever need assistance !
