Boy oh boy! This is annoying to work with. :)

Goal To Accomplish:

Store #1 needs Slideshow #1
Store #2 needs Slideshow #2

Steps taken:

Settings>Design>Banner
I Created a new banner called Banner #1
then
I Created a new banner called Banner #2

Then

Module>Slideshow>Edit
I Created a new slideshow called Slideshow #1, and Linked it to Banner #1
then
I Created a new slideshow called Slideshow #2, and Linked it to Banner #2

Then

Settings>Layouts
I Created a new Layout called Store #1 Home Page, linked it to Store #1, linked Slideshow #1, and common/home
then
I Created a new Layout called Store #2 Home Page, linked it to Store #2, linked Slideshow #2, and common/home

*NOTE*
Store #1 and Store #2 go to different stores with different products, not the same store.

Now, Store #1 Did not show the slideshow, however Store #2 did! This is when things get strange.

I continued to make sure that my banner, layout, and slideshow were enabled, which they all were.

How I temporarily fixed the problem:

Store #2 was working perfect when adding modules such as slideshow, so i did not touch it.

Store #1 still was not showing the banner #1, so i deleted the Layout named "Store #1 Home Page"

Then

I then went to the pre-made layout named "Default" and linked it to Store #1, linked Slideshow #1, and common/home.

Still its not working (Previously worked). So i then did the same thing under the layout name "Home" and it worked.

I would still like to be able to have 2 Layouts named Store #1 Home, Store #2 Home, so i can add thing easier, and keep everything simple, without having to remember the store #1 modules is under Home, and Store #2 is under Store #2 Home Page.

Possible Way to fix this:

When someone adds a second, third, or 4th store, have the path change accordingly. Example Store #1 (common/home), Store #2 (common/home2) Store #3 (Common/home3) How to do this? i have no clue! :)

I dont feel right with sharing that information as i have had problems before, and made a promise that I wont do that again. I hope you understand.

Instead I have attached pictures to show the problem best I can. No other settings were changed except under the Layout section.

All the layouts in the screenshots provided are linked to the default store. You have no layout that is linked to your second store.

My second store is under Store #2 Home Page

I did not take pictures of that because that site is working perfectly.

The Default Site wont show modules unless its under the "Home" Layout

Default Layout - Default - common/home = Will not show the modules added
Home Layout - Default - common/home = Will show the modules

Tje 2nd Site will show modules under any section as long as you select 2nd store in drop down menu.

Default Layout- Store #2 - common/home = Works
Home Layout- Store #2 - common/home = Works

Don't add a "route" or modules to the "default" layout. This is more than likely causing a conflict.

Hello!

I am having the same problem in oc 2.3.0.2 using journal theme. When creating new layouts to specific stores the modules do not show when using the created layout. Anyone that knows a solution for this?
