So I just open the htaccess and a coding appears, should I copy the code that you wrote and put it in the bottom?
can you put links as an example?

Also, regarding sitemaps, I see that some non-important pages have more priority than others that are important, is there a way of changing that?

I'm pretty new at SEO so pardon me for all my questions :)

It's normal Google is constantly changing it's algorithms and a lot of times after they do, your rank will be affected.

Seo and your ranking in google is a battle every day.
if in a competitive product range, you will have to monitor your competitors, check your and their rankings and work on your site, so its just that bit more better in th eyes of google to stay on top.

just adding products get a nice ranking and be happy wont work, if your comptetition is doing better, you loose rank.
make it a good practice, to review 5 to 10 of your product every day, adding information, making better product descriptions, adding product tags to stay on top

•Your site likely has canonical URL problems. For instance, you may have the same content on http://www.url.com, http://url.com, and http://www.url.com/index.html. That separation can cause lost link value and hurt rankings for your page. If you find external links pointing to both the non-www and the www version, use a 301 re-write rule so that all pages point to the same URL.

Thank you.
In blogspot how to solve it??

Hi. I am a new member and need directions on finding a quality SEO Plugin - either identical or very similar to the way that YOAST SEO Plugin works.
As you know, Yoast is not compatible with OpenCart. So, I am in search for an alternative one. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

You can already do what the yoast plug in does in opencart - set custom page titles, meta descriptions, etc. No plug in required for v2x as its all built in. Only thing you might want to add is a plug in for custom image titles that you can get in the extension store.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.2 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

labeshops, thanks for your reply. I am looking for an auto correction like the way Yoast SEO plugin works. That is, correcting my keywords when I type and telling me how to improve on-page SEO for each entry put. How can I do it?

Thanks again!
June

Ah okay. wasn't sure what you were trying to do that yoast does. Honestly, I've never used that part of the plug in on wordpress really. I don't know of anything for opencart that does that sort of thing.

Breaking news today
A 301 is a redirect code that tells search engines the page that was here is now located there. If you have just gone live with your store, you probably will not have/need any, so don't worry about them. If you had an old store with different format links to the same products you have now, then you should set up 301 redirects so you maintain the ranking the old links had.

You need to research keywords customers use to find your type of products and use them throughout your store. Something like google keywords or similar services can help you with that. Look for what phrases customers use most with the highest volume of searches and use them in your store.

No, you do not need any extensions really. Work on building up your keyword content in the store and add extensions later if you find you have issues with something here or there an extension will fix.

Hi. I have an ecommerce on OpenCart platform and looking for a SEO Plugin that works exactly as Yoast. I know there are some SEO plugins out there but the ones that I checked do not work exactly as Yoast. For example, Yoast plugin has the auto correct feature and literally corrects you on each step of the way from headlines to metatags on each product page. Any recommendations for me?

Thank you very much!

The Meta Keyword is useless for SEO and meta decription is very important.

I have to agree with labeshops, the only way it really works, is by working every day at your content, keywords, title and description tags which can be hard if you have a fulltime job. And after some time these 4 things can change a lot, but they have to stay coherent. All the extensions can't replace hard work. It's not a one time fix. And then there also is the technical side... where pingdom tools and gtmetrix can really show you what needs to be done.

Keep improving your site,

Opencart is SEO friendly. Nowadays, SEO is more difficult to rank and the meta tags are not so important.
