Disable PayPal Auto Order Status Update

I am wondering whether its possible to disable auto order status update by PayPal IPN call backs. For eg., If we refunded to customer from paypal account, Opencart admin automatically changes the status to refunded. we prefer to disable this auto action by opencart code.

Any help on this is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Although PayPal usually processes IPN messages immediately, IPN is not synchronized with actions on your website. Internet connectivity is not always 100% reliable and IPN messages can be lost or delayed. The IPN service automatically resends messages until the listener acknowledges them. The service resends messages for up to 4 days.

Paypal API NVP - Websites Payment Pro / Payflow Pro would rather be suggested to consider, in this case.
