Shipping override for certain product

Hello,

I am currently using Total Based Shipping on my website and I would like to continue using that but set a specific shipping rate for one item that costs more to ship. Is this possible through an extension of sorts? So if a user adds that particular item to their cart their shipping rate will change.

Yes, Category & Product-Based Shipping can do this. You can set different rates for different products/categories, and then combine those into a single cost presented to the customer.
