Hello OC members,
I recently installed OC 2.1.x and wanted to set a recurring payment, i.e a fixed amount per month, example $10/mo for a minimum of one or two years. Can anyone advise me if this is possible? My OC version is 2.1.0.2 and I have PayPal Business account at Paypal.
I thank you for your advise

It is a standard feature:
http://docs.opencart.com/catalog/profile/
Currently there's no support for subscription-only checkouts as there has to be a product price or shipping costs item(s).
There are extensions to solve this though!
So a customer has a product in the cart with a profile attached. He/she pays the product + subscription costs of which the latter are recurring.
Cheers

Thanks!
If you're using PayPal, you can try using PayPal Express in OpenCart, along with recurring profiles. You set them up in Catalog > Recurring Profiles, and then apply them to the product that you want. When someone purchases the product, they should be subscribed to a recurring payment in PayPal.
I haven't used it myself, so I'm not sure if you need a particular PayPal account type, or to turn on any settings on the PayPal side of things. If that ends up not working or you want other options, both Stripe (stripe.com) and Braintree (braintreepayments.com) support recurring payments. I have extensions for both of them that support this feature, and map products to the subscription plans you set up in Stripe/Braintree:
• Braintree Payment Gateway (includes a PayPal button)
• Stripe Payment Gateway
• Stripe Payment Gateway Pro (for mapping options or profiles to plans)
Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.
