Support multiple suppliers per product.

I was wondering is there any extension support multiple suppliers per product. Specifically, I may have several suppliers for the very same product, and, when I receive orders from my customers, I'd need to send my order to one or the other supplier, depending on various criteria (e.g. availability, price, etc). Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks in advance for the help.

PS: I would think that a lot of people building a shop have the same requirement. Maybe this is what is called "dropshipping"? Or maybe I need so search for "vendor"? Any clues greatly appreciated.

All I do is code it into my sku by using different 2 letter codes for each supplier. If a product has multiple suppliers (rare for me these days, but happens now and then), I just put both suppliers into the sku like XXYY-1123
