I am in the process of setting up an online shoe shop but hit a snag...

Say I have 6 different shoe sizes but for the same style of shoe, well each of these shoes have a different barcode based on the size and colour.

I created an option for sizes, 1 through to 15, and I add in the options tab for the product each size that the shoe comes in. All good so far but when I go to add the barcode I can not do this as each size has it's own barcode.

This is also the same for the different colours that style comes in.

How do other shopping carts get around this problem ?

Do I have to completely rethink how to set this up so I can use the barcode.

You could have a look at
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=7954

I have not had the time to convert to OC v2 but if you have a little PHP you should be able to do it.

Clorne;

Thank you for this, I shall look in to it, but after readin some of the comments think it might be what is already in the latest version which is what I am using.

Currently I have setup the cart for each style/colour but setup options for the sizes, like so...

Shoe1 (black)
Shoe1 (brown)
Shoe1 (grey)

Shoe2 (black)
Shoe2 (brown)
Shoe2 (grey)

and then have the customer chose the size where available for that style/colour of shoe.

This seems to work so far. But I see alot of other carts use a colour and size selector on the product page.

Unless the sellers send out the item after check each style/colour/size on the order, which is do-able but seems a lot of work when it could be done by just a barcode.

using my example above and say for simplicity there are just three sizes 6, 7 and 8 then there would be 18 different shoes for sale, each having their own barcode.

This is where I am trying to simplify the ordering process from our end.

I would advice openstock 2 module. I use it for my shop.

Strangely there is no built in connection on OC when size>color or order option dependancies.

OpenStock does great job and for me is the best, but not the cheapest solution in the extension shop (if you have theme like journal prepair $xxx amount for compatiability fixing)

There are other mods that do this sort of thing as well, I use options to products myself but you have a lot of choices - just search in the extension store.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
