Site can't match Paypal transactions to orders

Hi there

Site uses Paypal as it's only payment gateway and recently - i.e. last 2 weeks - I've been hit with problems regarding the orders not moving into active orders on site.

As far as I can see the orders are passing in to Paypal and completing there correctly without a hitch, so the money for the transactions are there. But on site the orders are not becoming 'new orders' but you can find them in the 'Missing Orders' tab within the database?

I suspect this is something to do with the recent changes Paypal has made to it's system and that the orders themselves on our backstage are not receiving the confirmation that they have become valid.

I could really do with some help on this if possible.

It must be the problem with the IPN from paypal.
You can set the debug setting to enable in the paypal module settings.
It will log the debugging information to the system/logs/ folder during IPN callback from paypal .
Sometimes the OC fails to verify callbacks because of the amounts mismatch (usually by .01) because paypal and opencart calculate totals differently. There is a fix for that but first make sure it is the case by enabling the debugging.

Thanks for this. It doesn't seem to have done this since the weekend so possibly maintenance on Paypal side? I intend to keep an eye regardless.
