We are looking for a international shipping solution (outside US) and there doesn't seem to be a clear solution for addressing international tax rates and customs. One solution was to handle shipping and inform the customer that they were responsible for custom and taxes. Not really a customer-friendly solution.

Does anyone have a good international (shipping) solution to address taxes and customs besides telling the customer to take care of it themselves?

Any input/suggestions appreciated.

In general, calculating those types of things ahead of time is quite difficult, which is why I think so many sites leave it up to the customer. I'm not aware of any service that can pre-calculate these sorts of things, though it might exist.

Thanks Johnathan. That's what we are hearing. But we wanted to exhaust all possibilities before telling the client it can't be done. So is this standard practice with opencart as well as all eCommerce? Leave it up to the customer? Any big brains out there have a solution?
