Default URLs are too long

The store url for any product/page on my store is way too long.

Example :
http://www.steamvilla.net/index.php?rou ... duct_id=52

Is it possible to have a shorten url

perhaps like
http://www.steamvilla.net/product-name

and
http://www.steamvilla.net/contact-us

This is, what SEO-URL's are made for, check the Extension Section and the User Forum about SEO-URL's.
