Hi all, hope you can help me out please
I've installed the latest version of OpenCart (2.0.1.1)
If possible I'd like to make it very basic and quick for customers by the following
1) free postage for everything, with the option to upgrade to a faster postage at cost, royal mail
2) PayPal only
3) No accounts or signing up, just add items to cart and do a buy now kind of thing
So the process would be.. no account/sign up, just come to the site, add items to cart then click checkout, the only option there being to upgrade from free postage to paid faster postage, then click pay now (or whatever it would say) and login to their PayPal, I can then get all the info from PayPal for the order
I'm a beginner with all of this but I'm capable of editing the php files etc - just wouldn't know here to start
Any tips/advice on this set up would me massively appreciated
Big thanks in advance
worz
You can use paypal only by using paypal express and adding the button to the checkout layout.
However I don't know how you would add shipping options on the same page as the shipping prices and options are in the registration page during checkout which calculates it based on the country selected.

Thanks, I will try that. I usually just do free shipping so there would be no need for shipping options really, having an option t upgrade from free to expedited shipping would be good but not really neededonlinemarketer wrote:You can use paypal only by using paypal express and adding the button to the checkout layout.

For the shipping you could just set up the Free Shipping and the Flat Rate Shipping modules. The customer can then chose from either. See the screen shots at the bottom of http://docs.opencart.com/shipping. Edit the language files in catalog/language/english/shipping to change the wording.
For PayPal you'll have to install the PayPal express module, but I believe this returns to OpenCart to finalise the order. I don't believe you can do what you want without quite a lot of modifications.

Thank you,
I had previously purchased a paypal extension, which I managed to setup this way with the help of the forum (lost my login details for my old account) - also lost all my FTP which is why I installed the latest version of opencart.
If I remember correctly, the items would be added to cart and when you click checkout you had the postage option only, then a paypal button, worked great

I was looking at this but it still asks for all of their information, which is pointless as I will get it all at paypalGoldenTongs wrote:one page guest checkout

and paypal express
Any way around this like on old versions? It is completely pointless asking a customer to write their address when I'm going to get it through PayPal anyway, plus I would only ever ship to their PayPal registered address to make sure I'm covered
The way I had the old one was perfect, just add to cart, click paypal and pay, quickest easiest way

There is a discussion here regarding doing what you want on 1.5. May be useful to you. It uses a paid for PayPal Express module that can create account details in OpenCart so the customer only had to enter their details once. I not sure if the free PayPal Express module in OpenCart does that. http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=26446
Doing a search for "checkout without address" brings up a few more topics, but I doubt you'll find anything for 2.0 due to it not being out long.
