I have asked a couple of times without success, so I'm posting a visual here. The reason is, I can't get past the first page to see what else is going on because I can't save and continue. The error states the description cannot be empty. Well, the text area is not empty as indicated by the arrow. I'm stuck until this is sorted. Now, I do have MultiMerch free core files installed with the newest version of OpenCart. So who's bug is it anyway I wonder? Anybody want to take a shot at this? Thanks in advance.

Hi clickmyoffer,

have you got a test server that I can look at ? If you PM me some details I'll let you know what is causing this.

I am getting same problem when I try to save the new product for my website www.tamilnadumarket.com.

After I filled every required fields, at the end of submit, it says, "Product description cannot be empty".

Please suggest me.

Hello Alagukan

I wonder if you have the MultiMerch Module installed over Open Cart. If you do, I think the issue may have been with that module. I was discussing a different subject with MultiMerch support and in reply I received this paragraph. Quote: “We’ve also fixed the description error along with a few other things so you should be able to get the latest update from GitHub that fixes those things”.

MultiMerch has responded to my enquiries exceptionally fast and efficiently, and I know they are working very hard to fix any problems resulting from the Open Cart 2. upgrade. However, just as an aside, it seems to me that some developers are assuming users (“me”) are adept at coding. Providing clear instructions as to what to download, how and where to upload the patch files would save us so much time. Just saying.

I hope this has helped.

Dave

Dear Dave,

Thanks a lot for your nice suggestions... :)

You make me confident :yahoo: to face this issue.

If I get the right link for 'latest updated multimerch' from github, it will be more helpful ;)

I found this link https://github.com/multimerch/multimerch and downloaded for retry, but I get 2 different errors. one is from files section, 'file upload error' in General tab. In Data tab, I get 'Model' field required error.

These 2 errors are blocking me further to add a single product :bash:

Is it your product description problem solved after you add those latest?

Any idea? Or do you think I am doing anything wrong? Could you please suggest me is it the right link?

Hi Alagu,

Thank your for using MultiMerch :)

The link to the latest Core version is indeed http://github.com/multimerch/multimerch.

As to File Upload Errors, please check your OpenCart and server error logs. This is a generic error indicating something went wrong during file upload and you need to look into logs for details.

As for the Model field being required - do you have it enabled in MM settings? If the custom fields are disabled this shouldn't happen.

Martin

Hi Ashley, welcome to the forum. I noticed you posted the last part of my previous post above but I'm not sure why! Is there a question? Just wondering what the point was is all.

Cheers

Dave

You're right, Dave - most of our docs and guides are written for techies as most our users are either developers or have their own development team at hand since its integration with custom OpenCart themes and extensions requires development skills anyway. We'll try to make MM a little more user-friendly in the near future, though, as I imagine this is something many would appreciate :)
