Bulk Shipping Extension

Hi,

I'm building a bicycle shop and I need an extension for bulk shipping.
The mod should do the following:

1. Add a checkbox to the product where I can select if the product is a "bulky product"
2. If I select "bulky product" in the article the shipping cost will be set to the defined amount in the according shipping mod

I know that I could also work with the dimensions, but that's to complicated, as I have quite a lot of products to maintain.

Anyone knows an extension for that?

I generally recommend avoiding extensions that modify core files, because they often will cause issues with OpenCart updates, and conflict with other extensions.

My Category & Product-Based Shipping extension can set charges for different products, and you can group them together for individual charges. If you don't want to select the products yourself, one easy way is to set the weight of non-bulky items to 0, and bulky items to 1 (assuming you don't use weight for your rates). You can do the same thing with volume if you need the weights for some reason.

You could also use Ultimate Shipping, which can base rates on any product data field. You could then use an unused field already present, like Location, to group your bulky products together all at once.
