Hello,

I have opencart 1.5.6.4 and I'm trying to get canada post shipping for my site, but as my shipping options dont have canadian shipping with site, which is a good free version I could use? the version I tried to set in my shipping (1.4.8b-1.7) doesnt show up in shipping option list after I transfer via filezilla. Is it a wrong version? and if so can someone point me in the right direction please. Thanks very much. :)

Aaaaaaaaand, nothing? Could really use some help in setting up Canadian shipping in opencart as I can't launch without it. Any support would be of great help and appreciated.

You might consider using this Canada Post extension instead:

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=3288

If the extension is not appearing in Extensions > Shipping, then the files are not in the correct locations. If you're unfamiliar with how to upload files via FTP, you should try reading up on how to do that, to make sure you're doing it correctly. If you still have issues after that, I would recommend you upload the files one-by-one into their correct locations, so that you can be sure they end up in the right places. For example, if the extension had a file like this:

/upload/admin/controller/shipping/canada_post.php

It would need to be placed in the corresponding OpenCart folder:

/admin/controller/shipping/

Hope that helps.

You put them in your OpenCart root -- that's where your regular "admin", "catalog", "system", etc. folders are. Usually it's public_html, unless you have it in your sub-directory.

After that, use the advice I gave above for uploading files one-by-one. It sounds like that might be a good idea if you're intent on doing this yourself.

Ok, Thanks for the reply. After some calm digging I now have it installed. The only issue now is the canada shipping rates. I know from shipping the same products from C/P to pretty much anywhere in canada/US was btwn 5-9.00 but the calculator wants to charge upwards of 15.00 to same areas. I have edited the size and weight dimensions and am confused as to why it is doing this. Could it be that I am running the test shipping calculator? and would it possibly change once I input my merchant ID and start running in real time? Thanks again for all the help.

Ok sorry for the questions but it's a big learning curve and it's coming surely but with time. Figured it out so far with the shipping, and thanks for the input Johnathan. it is appreciated. I'm sure I'll be back with yet more inqueries :)
