The first version of 2.0 has just been released!

Please don't forget that while 2.0 is the latest version, not all 3rd party modules will be compatible just yet. We advise that you do not upgrade to 2.0 until you have confirmed with all 3rd party developers they have a compatible version for you.

We would like to thank everyone who has tested, suggested and contributed to 2.0 - it has taken some time to get to this stage! We're already underway with our next set of changes and improvements.

Thanks for all your hard work, Daniel and James. I'm a bit surprised it's released already (given that it was not in beta status very long) but glad it's finally here.

How boring is this??
Beta release = 1 week >> should be also a 'freezing' periode!
And now again new language vars overall.

Where is the release management?!

Great stuff. Can we also get the demo store finally updated at demo.opencart.com from the 1.5.4 release? :D

2.0 may not be ready for prime time yet..Rolling back to the older version that is more stable.

Especially when bug reports were still coming in at a steady pace. We keep getting told release management is going to improve and it doesn't.

Edit: There were exactly three business days between the beta email announcement and the release of 2.0.

Well done to all, especially Daniel, for the hard work gone into this new release!

For those interested: Both the Override Engine and VQmod are now available for OpenCart 2.0.0.0.

I am also planning to release an OpenCart fork soon which have them both bundled in and pre-installed.

Override Engine * Integrated VQMod * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * TrustPilot Reviews * Google Rich Snippets * Google Tag Manager * Export/Import Tool * Template Switcher PHP/Twig

:flex: Now that makes sense O.C. 2 should have had that from the start especially vqmod

We are in the process of updating the current demo sites to offer both 1.5.6 and 2.0

The beta didn't even live long enough to be tested fully..but I guess they were rushing the release of 2.0 for the eCommerce expo..

Anyway, great job to the group of people that helped improve OpenCart and worked so hard for OC 2.0 :)

OCmod isn't usable till something is done about it to allow backwards compatibility and line based searching...we will stick to vQmod till then :)
