It is easy to add or delete featured products at 1.4.9.x.
But I can't find a way to add featured products at 1.5.0.x
Anyone can help me?

Log in to admin and go to 'Extensions->Modules' then edit the 'Featured' module.

To Add:

The first tab labelled 'Products', type the first letter of the product you want, a list will then appear. Select the product and it will be added to the featured products list.

To Remove:

Underneath the product tab, there is a table with a list of featured products. Click on the red minus symbol on the right hand side of the product name.

Don't forget to hit 'Save' when you are done.

Cheers, Sam

I am not able to add featured product in 1.5.1 either. I typed in the name of the product, but the system doesn't appear to recognize it. This would work on my Linux box with sample products from the installation, but failed to work on my Windows 7 laptop with sample products removed. Is this a bug in 1.5.1?

Can you reproduce the same issue with the latest version of OpenCart on a test folder and fresh database? The utf8 helper file has been updated since OC v1.5.5.1 release.

Is it possible I have a problem with the server settings?

can you try to take a look here? I'm not an expert so I can't say if settings are okay or not...

mbstring does seem to be enabled on your end. However, PHP 5.3.28 has become a bit old. Although, I would still try the latest OC release with fresh database; seeing if this issue persists. If it does, check your error logs from the admin - > systems - > error logs. Make sure the option to log errors is enabled from your store settings under admin - > systems - > your store so to see the results afterwards from your store-front end.

Hi, thank you very much for the support!
I will try with the new installation in the next few minutes.

In the meantime i checked the error log and it says:

2014-05-28 15:00:50 - PHP Notice: Undefined variable: parent_option_query in /home/fvolrtsj/public_html/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-admin_controller_catalog_product.php on line 1444
2014-05-28 15:00:50 - PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/fvolrtsj/public_html/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-admin_controller_catalog_product.php on line 1444

and here it is the line 1444 of that file:

'parent_option_values' => $parent_option_query->rows,

could it be of any help?

This error comes from a VQMod contribution, not from the OC core files. I would disabled that particular contribution and see if this error persists. If so, then to try a fresh installation with the latest OC release and see from there if the problem persists.

Contribution issue. When you disable this particular contribution you reported above on the OC v1.5.5.1 release, does this issue still persist ?

Oh GOD... yes! as soon as I uninstall that module, everything will work in the right way... so I have to ask to the module programmers right?
