UPS Shipping - Alternate

Hi,

I downloaded and installed the UPS Shipping Alternate extension, which comes kindly enough for free. In case you are interested:

Unfortunately, the negotiated rates functionality does not seem to work. Although, there is a section in admin for it where you are supposed to enter your UPS account number, the extension will quote the default retail rate.

I contacted the author of the extension and he confirmed that it is a bug and pointed me here for a fix:

Unfortunately, with my limited amount of coding skills and familiarity with the UPS API feed, I am unable to fix the big. I would greatly appreciate it if someone with more knowledge would share their insight with me.
