I've created an Enhanced Order Email structure to make the order email actually worthwhile. By default there is nothing of real value in the email except the order id, which means you have to go look up the order and try to make sense of it all.

I've added:
- Customer Email
- Payment Address
- Shipping Address
- Product Options
- Added "Total" to the subject line for quick reference.

I tried side-by-side for the addresses, but it can't be done with plain text.

I've got a version for OpenCart v130 and v132 and v1.3.4 files included in the zip.
Subject: Your Store - Order 537 ($7.00)

You have received an order.

Order ID: 539
Date Ordered: 10/09/2009
Order Status: Pending

Products:

1x Product 2 - $30.00

Totals:
Sub-Total: $37.00
USA Zone Shipping: $2.20
Total: $39.20
Update for 1.4.0
Since 1.4.0 uses an HTML mail system, I've incorporated that into the admin email as well.

Updated the original post for 1.4.0 to include product options & email address (see screen shot)
Also, the admin now gets the same html style email the customer gets, but with the text changes that separate the admin from the user.

Thank you for this nice mod.
I need to see customer phone number too in shop owners mail.
Can you write how to add it?

nice!
idea: now about a link to the paypal transaction, so you can click it, and then accept the paypal funds for the order, then you have a one-stop email to take care of the entire order. ;)

I tried this with 1.4.3 and got: Error: E-Mail sender required!

Has anyone gotten it to work with 1.4.3?

Just checking in on this -
It would really be helpful for my situation where I have dial-up at home (where I pack my orders) - so being able to download the emails and print them - so I can enter in QuickBooks and package them would be really handy - instead of having to load the admin site (at 7.2kbps :o ) and print invoices.

I saw a post on here about getting the same email to the admin that the customer gets, but I dont know enough about the code to really understand what Im looking for or what to do. [1.4.4]Same order mail for customer and admin possible.

Thanks
Wade

How difficult would it be to also write the text to a flat file ? Just like you have in your example image ?
thanks!

I have version 1.4.6 and the version 1.4.0 for Enhanced Order Email causes it to error when the server tries to send the email to both the store owner and customer so is there an updated 1.4.6 version of EOE?

I use version 1.4.0 of enchanced order email in my opencart 1.4.4.

I dont get any error message, the order is stored correctly in the database, but the email is not send. Not to the admin and not to the customer. Any idea what goes wrong?

i just replaced with the original files and then 2 e-mails are sent, so its nothing wrong with the mailserver settings.

And 1.4.7 will be released when? ;)

I know... It will be released when it's done :) But can you tell us this; will it be simple to update from 1.4.6?
