USPS User Id

I am trying to install the USPS shipping extension, but it will not accept any user id. USPS does not give a user id but a mailer id instead and this does not work. Any suggestions?

Sign up for the USPS API and then call to activate your account.

USPS directly. Their phone number is in the welcome email that you get from USPS when you sign up for an API account.

Sending them an e-mail also often works.
