the strange thing is that after the "thanks again" (at the end of the email) there are a few strange characters
it happens both in english and italian
for example

(italian)
Grazie per aver scelto il mio Store.
?jab?׫y҃׿t׾

(english)
Thanks again for choosing my Store.
J??)mz?? ={?

i saved the files as utf-8
what else can i check?
thanks

I recall seeing other posts in the forums about character encoding of emails which may help you. From the Search menu, click Advanced Search, it works better.

hi bruce,
thanks for your reply
i read all the posts in "languages issue"
i was looking at this
http://forum.opencart.com/index.php/top ... ml#msg3910
but is the mail.php the one under "library" folder?
if yes, in my case which line should be affected?
thanks!

Yes to the first. It is the mail.php in library. The link gives specific instructions that I cannot improve on.

As to the swedish thing. It is the default database collation if you do not specify collation when creating a table. It is probably swedish for historical reasons as I think mysql originated in sweden. It is not the source of your problems and does not need to be changed.
