Two flat rates of shipping based on product range

Hi

I'm currently using flat rate shipping of £5.99 for everything up to £50 when its free shipping, but my client would like to offer a second rate of £1 shipping on all boots.

Can anyone offer a suggestion I can try to enable an option within the admin section to select the shipping of £1 for boots?

can't you make a new tax class that is only for the boots, then make a copy of the flat rate shipping and assign it to this class, then assign all boots to this tax (and it will include VAT etc). Just make sure you make the boots not have "requires shipping" selected.

Tax Classes are determined by location and customer group, not items in the cart. The only way to do this is to get an appropriate shipping method that can tell if a boot is in the cart.

You could make the boots weight 1, have regular items weight 0, and then use Formula-Based Shipping to make a total + weight based rate. If that doesn't seem like it would work, then you could use Product-Based Shipping to make different rates for different products, then combine the charges into a single final cost.

The weight option could work as my client has one price regardless of weight, so setting all products O except for boots should work.
