Hi I am looking to change my "free shipping" Module to a ships for "$x.xx" module. As well as changing the rate from from free to $x.xx , I would like to change the title to "Fixed rate $x.xx" on at least the front end.
The main reason I would like to do this is I am currently using my flat rate module, and I would like this in conjunction w/ that is for the "Sub-Total amount needed before the free shipping module becomes available." feature on the free shipping.
Any help in this area would be greatly aprreciated
You can use Total-Based Shipping to do this. If you don't want a commercial extension, you can change the title in the /catalog/language/english/shipping/free.php file, but you'll also need to change the code so that it charges an amount. You'll need to look in the /catalog/model/shipping/free.php file, find the 'cost' variable, and hard-code the cost there.
