Manufacturer filter

I got this to work:
This is a filtering combo-box with the manufacturers for products in each category.
A combo-box with the manufacturers appears bellow the "Page" line. When selecting the manufacturer, only the corresponding products are shown. Also, only the manufacturers for the products in the current category appear.

The files attached are as follows:
- category.php - to be uploaded in "catalog/controller/"
- category.tpl - to be uploaded in "content/" folder of your template's folder

Also, in the language file, the following entries should be defined:
- 'filter_manufacturers' - defines the string that appears before the combo-box
- 'all' - defines the string for the option "--- no filter ---" (that's all manufacturers)

This update also eliminates a bug by resetting the page setting to the first page when changing the category.
Example: http://www.pda-shop.ro - only in romanian, but click on the first category to see the filtering option.

I am now working at extending the filtering option by adding different categories for each product and using these categories as filtering options (just like the manufacturer).

Thanks for the contribution - im now trying to modify it slightly so that the filtering can be made via a text link (querystring value) rather than the combo box. Is this possible? One look at controllers/category.php and im lost.

i've got some problems with the filter ... after i install it it moves all the data in the left, background is missing, etc.

how can i make it work?

le: problem partialy resolved by replacing default.css & layout.tpl with the defaults one's. But, i have no products show in category and no filter

Have a look at the html of the page and you will see that the link to the stylesheet is invalid. Fix that problem at the source and you are done.
