Any Way to Secure Admin without Renaming Folder?

Hello everyone.

Basically I would like to find out how to prevent accessing to admin login page without renaming admin folder. Because when I rename the folder and edit the config files some important extensions don't work properly.

Depending on the type of hosting you're on you can use a htaccess password protection on it, alternatively there is this extension which will display a 404 to non-auth ip groups : http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=9281
