Hey guys,

I am from Hong Kong and having an website hosted by a Hong Kong company.
My website have "PayPal Website Payment Pro" , so that my customer can find the fields for credit card information entry easily. But when my customer get the error " The merchant country is not supported. " when pressing the confirm button. It is quite an headache for me right now. Paypal claim this support worldwide. :-\

If this is the case that Paypal does can't support Hong Kong merchant. I will switch to others like Moneybooker.

Hope any good people here can give me some advice. ???

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply ~
Hopefully yes.
I am waiting for their technical team reply.

Paypal always let me down.
So I am kind of worried.

Here is the paypal 's reply.... Damn it.

"Thank you for contacting Merchant Technical Services. Please be informed that Payments PRO is only available to US, UK, and Canadian merchants.
Sorry for the inconvenience."

Yes, you are right.
I just further ask paypal to advice. They also advice "Website Payment Pro Hosted Solution"
But it need business document which I don't have yet

Actually I just start the business. Wanna see the business on track first before registering a company. Seems working as a company , will come with a lot of compliance and red tape. I foresee my business 's turnover rate will be very low in the first few month.

Anyway, thanks for your advice!

Anyone know how "PayPal Website Payment Pro Hosted Solution" works ?
Is it just using the same payment module of "Paypal payment Pro" ?

Thanks a lot! O0

I make the Paypal Pro Hosted extension for OpenCart. It is a completely separate codebase from the normal Paypal Pro module.

Basically Paypal Pro is their "onsite" credit card system for US, CA, and UK.
For a handful of other countries, they require their "pro hosted" alternative.
This one can either be in an iframe or redirect to their site to pay.

These are the countries that support Paypal Pro Hosted:
