CKEditor greyed out / disabled

Since installing opencart 1.5.5.1 onto a ubuntu server a few days ago I have been unable to get the ckeditor to work on any of the admin pages. The default ckeditor was greyed out when opencart was installed with none of the buttons working and no text input being registered.

I have since tried installing the latest ckeditor build from the ckeditor site and also the ckeditor 4.0 extension from the opencart extensions site. Both of these installations have had the same issue with the editor being displayed on screen but with the control disabled. as shown here:


I have been unable to find any posts from anyone with a simillar issue so if anyone has any insight into why this is happening it would be much appreciated.

Same here. Try FF or Chrome

Was a fix ever found... The issue I am having is when I go in to source the save button is grayed out but not in other modes....
