Pre-Order

I have been searching the forums and have not found the right solution or just not the right question was getting asked for what I am looking for.

I want to be able to allow for payment on "Pre-Order" items. I don't want people to be able to purchase an item that is actually not in stock just in case that item is something I will not be restocking.

I've tried all the suggestions for going into setting and enabling checkout with out of stock items, problem is you can still pay for the item if it truly is out of stock and not a pre-order item.

I always considered pre-ordering a way for the store to cover there costs for the item in which they must stock in time for the customer.

Any help or modules on this would be greatly appreciated.

Have to say GoGo that this extension is absolutely fantastic!

I am in the exact same situation as timelrd and needed the functionality of a Pre-Order button that would add to cart but would alert users to the difference (which will result in a difference in delivery timeframe), I used this along with editing the text in catalog\language\english\checkout\cart.php (I think from memory) to say "Products marked with *** are not in stock - see Pre-Order information on delivery information page<link".

Other than a strange intermittent styling issue on my menu roundings that seems to have sorted it for me - well worth the money

EDIT: Styling issue is IE10 nothing to do with this great extension...working on a fix now.

Old theme about preordering, but the problem still exist. I have made also extension for such problem
