Shipping estimate based on postcode AND CITY

Are there any extensions which add a CITY text input field to the shipping estimate form on the cart page?

As shown in the screenshot below.

(I found "Select City and Shipping by City (for OC 1.5.4.x and 1.5.5.x)" but unfortunately it is not suitable because I need the city to be text input, not a drop down. There are too many cities for me to preconfigure them all.)

Shipping estimation is based on Geo Zone in Open Cart.

As far as I know, this is not possible in the default Open Cart admin, because you can only add Country and Region to a Geo Zone. Also as far as I know, shipping companies have fixed prices for Zones/Regions/States in a country.

So basically you will have to alter the whole system, I am not sure if it's possible and I am not sure if such an extension will come at a decent market price.

I have plans to add city criteria to my more powerful shipping extensions, but am not sure when it will be available. Hopefully soonish

Thanks Johnathan, however I already have a shipping extension that allows me to filter based on city. It works well except that the results don't come up in the shipping estimates since the customer doesn't provide their city information.

I was just wondering if the shipping estimates feature could be extended to add a text input box for the city. Based on Andrei's response it may be too big of a change...

Ah, I see. Theoretically you should be able to add a "city" field to the shipping estimator, and have it pass that information on to the shipping extensions. I don't think it would be too difficult of an edit, but it's beyond what you're likely to get someone to lead you through for free in the forums.

If you want to hire a developer to do the modification for you, I recommend you post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum (forum.opencart.com/viewforum.php?f=88), which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers.
