Essentially just that above.

Would be great if you could do a select system, that hid all the images applied to the option in their dropdown bar until a customer actually clicked on them. Could save a lot of space while keeping a good level of information.

Also, it would be great if the base OpenCart system had a way to dictate your site's background image and display, through the control panel itself, rather than CSS surgery that doesn't always seem to do the trick.

There is already a free extension that displays the option image when the option is selected. Not sure about the background image though - css is the usual way to do it.

Well, I say "Easy Backgrounds" - as in you can set it from the Control Panel - because I personally have been fighting with CSS for now 3 days trying to get it to take an image for a background, trying over a dozen different methods, a dozen different ways each. But that's just me failing repeatedly I guess.

As for the image dropdowns, one of the demonstration choices actually does that idea pretty well, but it would still be nice if those features were integrated as part of the system itself.
