I am trying to create a small website for a family owned (small business). Not many products, and I would like to have the home (index) page, just be a simple custom page with information about the business (images of them and info about them, etc)? Just an intro page like a small website would have.

I guess I could go to Catalog/Information and create a "custom html page" and give it a name, but how would I have it display as my home page when someone comes to my site? Would I (or could I) name it index.php? And is this the right way to go about this?

Also, Is it possible to create a tab in the top navbar, label it "HOME" and address it to go to that page?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can create a homepage by going to extensions modules welcome.

make sure you do not load any other module on the homepage so you wont display anything else or if you want you can choose wat to display.

under top menu is your braedcrum with home but it is posible to add a hardcoded link in top menu to home.
just find the code in yourtemplate common header.tpl

just found this extension to add home to top menu
