Need to add tooltips to the category list

Hi. I've searched and searched, but have yet to find anything about this. I've found extensions to add tooltips to products, etc. I'm looking to add tooltips to the category/product list on the left side of my page (http://catalog.mattress-pros.com/index. ... ry&path=18)

I don't necessarily need an extension, it would be just as useful if someone could tell me where to place my javascript to get it to work properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
