I just made our website live yesterday on 06-21-12. I have Google Base, Open Base and Google Sitemap all enabled. I am wondering is there is something that I need to submit to Google Merchant Center? They only accept .txt or.xml and all I have is URLs. Should everything happen automatic or is there something I am missing?

You need to create a feed call it google.xml or anything.xml

Noneed to specify whether it is txt or xml it will auto detect.

Then once feed is create, edit the schedule for it and paste in the feed URL given to you in your OpenCart admin section.

Just got uksb Google Merchant / Bing Shopping / Feeds + XML Sitemaps
And uploaded google-yes.php to my site root http://www.thermal-labels-printers.co.uk and got the following error message

Warning: require_once(config.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/30/d207454176/htdocs/ongoogle-yes.php on line 2

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5') in /homepages/30/d207454176/htdocs/ongoogle-yes.php on line 2

homepages/30/d207454176/htdocs/ is the root directory as shown by my ISP 1 and 1 .co,uk

Help!!! what do these messages mean??

Hi,

You do not need to upload that file.

it is for use when there has been a problem with users using an import/export tool which has set all current products to Not list on Google, or if you only want to submit a few of your products to Google, yo can mass update them all to NOT list on Google and then individually mark those products you want to list.

However, you shouldnt have got that error unless you uploaded the file to somewhere else other than your store root where config.php resides.

Ahh the store root...

The instructions say into the site root.
Will try the store root and see what that does, thanks for the reply.

As per my previous post, you are not supposed to install that file, it is not the actual extension, but rather for use after the extension has been installed and only if you really need to install it. it is not need under normal circumstances.

Please download the extensions that matches your OpenCart installation, title UKSB Google Merchant 3.8.0

Hi again

As I had already installed a vqmod in my shop, and as the instructions say that you should not try to install if vqmod has already been used, I decided to delete my cart and start all over again with a virgin clean cart.

Followed all the instructions, and then to the instructional video at http://www.opencart-extensions.co.uk/vi ... _merchant/. The first thing I noticed was in the "Extensions/product feeds" I only got 2 extra feeds ie
1/ - UKSB SITEMAPS
2/ - UKSB Google Merchant v3.8.0

The - UKSB GOOGLE IMAGE SITEMAP was missing

Then when I followed the video further in the "Catalog/Products" there was no "GOOGLE SHOPPING" Tab.

I do not want to go any further as there is obviously something wrong with the installation. Can you please advise as to what it could possibly be.

Thanks for all the help.

As I could not get the 3.8 to work on my actual site, I have generated a new site, uploaded Opencart V1.5.4 and installed
Then installed SBUK Merchant 3.8.0 as per the instructions, I installed 3.8.0 in the extenstions/feed options, then edited it as per your demo site.
But I still do not get the GOOGLE SHOPPING in the Products edit page.

I must be doing something wrong in the installation, but for the life of me I cannot find out what it is.

Any suggestions.
Will give out the ftp info if required for you to have a look at.

Ah Ha!!!!
At last I seem to have a good installation.
Me Thinks that the problem was using notepad or Wordpad to modify the php files.
This time I did everything the same but used Dreamweaver to modify the php files.

I now have the GOOGLE SHOPPING in the Products edit page.

Now lets see if I can get it onto my real site.
