I'm using OC 1.4.9.6. Everything has been working fine until just a few days ago, and NO files have been altered. A few days ago, I started noticing that I was getting a lot of "Order # xxxx payment requires manual verification" notifications.

Upon doing a couple test runs paying myself out of another of my Paypal accounts, it appears that Paypal is not connecting back to the verification page. As such, the payments are going through fine, but the site does not know that it was successful as it does not receive a confirmation, so I cam getting as many as 3 "manual verification needed" notices per PayPal transaction.

I purged my error log and did another test run, and this was the result. I'm not sure why it should be throwing these errors now as, again, nothing has been changed from earlier on my end.
ERROR LOG DUMP:

Further details: OK, it is not EVERY order with paypal upon further review, but it is an unusually high number. 7 orders in the last 3 days, not including both my test orders. Normally I would see this MAYBE once per hundred orders, at most.

On the Paypal side, it is clearly having trouble connecting. When it says it is returning you to the site, it hangs up. The first test, it took three tries of clicking on the "If you're not returned to the site in ten seconds, click here" link after the auto-return never worked. The second test, it never did work after several attempts.

Every time it happens, it generates exactly three "You need to manually verify this order" e-mails as a result.

Again, no settings on either side have been changed, no files changed, and the page it is trying to connect back to on the site is correct.

Anyone?

Seems a curl connection issue on your server:
2012-09-24 14:27:22 - PP_STANDARD :: CURL ERROR: 28::SSL connection timeout

You may need to ask your host about any known curl connection issues.
