How to make the Best Sellers Module a Link to its own page

I am just trying to get a link in the menu titled "Best Sellers" and then have that link to a page that just basically shows the best sellers module.

You mean you want to show best seller module as a page? just like special page?
Opencart default doesn't have best seller page, try to find it here opencart extensions may be someone already develope it.

Is there free module to view 'latest product' or 'bestseller' as a page?

None that I know of.

I'm new to all of this, so I may have missed something here, but

This is one way to do it, although it may not be exactly what you want.

1. Create a layout named Latest with route =common/latest
2. Create a category named Latest, enter what ever description you want, but assign no products if you want OC to identify based on dates products were added
3. Set the Latest cateogry Design layout override to Latest
4. If not already, install Module / latest, set its layout to latest and position to content bottom. Also set the limit for the number of products to display.

The category named latest will show in the menu. When clicked the latest category description with latest product module will display. The only problem I see is that a message will appear above the latest products that indicates no products exist for the category. Perhaps you can create a placeholder product to avoid that message.

If you don't want to assign products automatically based on date added, you can also manually assign a product to the latest category in addition to its normal category on the products / links screen.
