Although you can skip the shipping steps by selecting "No" for the "Requires Shipping" setting for all products, this vQmod is faster if you need to skip the shipping steps during checkout. It modifies the system cart file to always return "false" for the "hasShipping()" function.

This can also come in handy if you're using Automatic Shipping, and want to automatically apply the shipping cost to the customer's order without requiring them to enter any shipping information.

Note that skipping the shipping steps does mean you will not be able to collect different shipping and payment addresses, if that's important for your store.

It's a vQmod file, so you need vQmod installed. Then you put it in the /vqmod/xml/ folder.

Reading is not as easy as it seems... sorry about that. Anyway can it be build? I've investigated the checkout.tpl and found multiple instances of <?php if ($shipping_required) { ?> did try to remove/replace some lines but I could not get it to work yet.
Any help would be appriciated and I'm even willing to pay for it.

It certainly *could* be done, but I don't know of any way to require the address step but not the shipping step. If you're looking for a commercial solution, I recommend you post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum (forum.opencart.com/viewforum.php?f=88), which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. You can also try checking out the OpenCart "Partners" area (www.opencart.com/index.php?route=partner/partner).
